Weekly Meal Service

Our founding service, which supports, on average, 30 adults and children each week, through times of hardship, be that serious illness, or financial challenges.

Often families sadly experience some challenging times, be that financially, or perhaps through serious illness.  At times like this, it’s important for families to bond and be together to support each other and there is no better way to do this than at the dining table over a tasty meal.  But often cooking a meal from scratch is just unachievable in these circumstances, which is why our founding Weekly Meal Service is still going strong 5 years later.

Together as a Family

The Weekly Meal Service allows families to sit down at least once a week to share a nutritious and home-made 2 course meal, together as a family, without the worry of having to cook or spend money on ingredients.

Each year we support on average 50 families, with around 1,000 meals cooked by our Chef and team of incredible volunteers, who also deliver the meals to the families home.

“Caring Cooks helped us when I had major surgery last year and was unable to walk more than a few steps at a time for weeks. My husband was working full time in the day and teaching two nights a week and looking after our two girls.  The weekly meals were such a great help I am ever so grateful to you”

How it does it work?

We do not take direct referrals, and work with charities and agencies across the Island to support the most vulnerable of families with the service.

If you are an agency who would like to make a referral, please get in touch with us and we can send you the information.

Once we receive a referral, we will contact the family to advise them of when the service will start.  The meal is then prepared and delivered on a Saturday from 4 star Eat Safe rated weekly kitchen by our Chef and team of incredible volunteers.
