Our volunteers are incredible and Caring Cooks simply wouldn’t operate without them.

We have around 40 dedicated volunteers, most of whom support the delivery of our Weekly Meal Service every Saturday for 50 weeks of the year.  Through this programme, they commit around 750 hours to support vulnerable families in Jersey sit down together to a home cooked meal each week, saving the charity £7,500 a year.
Our volunteers also help with fundraising, running some of our social media communications and organising events, and we would love to hear from anyone who would like to get involved in our engaging volunteering programme.  To inspire you, we wanted to share some of our volunteers reasons for working with us.

“I have been volunteering for Caring Cooks for over three years now, assisting with meal preparations, driving and delivering.  We always have fun and my fellow volunteers genuinely have a passion for cooking and working for such a worthy cause.  The families we deliver to are so thankful for the food we deliver and appreciate the time given by all volunteers.”

“What a pleasure it is to write a few words.  I volunteer for Caring Cooks because it often lets me get closer to the people in my community.  Also on the most basic level, it’s nice to feel I have achieved something positive with my day.  In helping others, I am reminded that we are all together and we need to remember to support each other.  Life has so much more to offer if we remember to look beyond ourselves.”
