Food and Nutrition Co-ordinator

Rachael is married to Ashley, a Mum to Jamie, 15, Darcy, 13 and a Shih Tzu named Scooper. She studied and qualified as a Chef at Kendal College FE and worked in the Lake District, before moving to Jersey as a Chef at the L’Horizon Hotel for several years.

From there, Rachael left the Island and spent the next 6 years working as a Pastry Chef in London hotels and restaurants, after travelling around Australia, returned to Jersey start a family of her own. When the children started primary school she worked at St Peters School and qualified as a Learning Support Assistant which 8 years on, has bought to the exciting opportunity she faces as the Island’s first Food and Nutrition Co-ordinator. It’s an opportunity to combine both of her passions; teaching and cooking, and one in which she hopes to inspire children to choose and cook healthy, alternative meals and snacks.
