45g butter
1 egg
90g raw muscovado/brown sugar
75g dried chopped dates or dried chopped apricots or a mixture of both
60g self raising flour
50g muesli or porridge oats
65g natural yoghurt
1 tbsp. pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp. sunflower seeds


1. Preheat the oven to 180oC
2. Place the butter and sugar in a small bowl and beat until light and fluffy, then beat in the egg. Alternatively you can do this in a food processor
3. Stir in dates, oats, yoghurt, flour and seeds
4. Spoon mixture in a lined square baking tray, bake for 25 minutes until golden. Cool in tin and slice in bars

You can use a variety of seeds and dried fruit
If your little ones don’t like ‘bits’ you can blend the dried fruit in the food processor along with the egg.
